Help get Lismore City Pipe Band back on their feet after catastrophic floods damaged equipment and their band hall!
On Monday, 28th of February 2022, the town of Lismore in northern New South Wales, Australia was inundated with record-breaking floods that peaked at a staggering 14.4 metres (2 metres higher than ever recorded).
The disaster badly impacted Lismore City Pipe Band, a country pipe band that’s been playing for their community for more than 75 years.
Despite storing their gear as safely as possible, they lost a significant amount of equipment when the waters rose higher than predicted and flooded their band hall and storage area.
Worst of all – they lost nearly all of their photos, records, and band history.
After a tough few years for country towns after the 2020 bushfires and the pandemic, opportunities for the band to play gigs and fundraise have been limited.
This latest setback has made it that much harder to get back to playing for their community.
Pipe Bands Queensland is running this fundraiser to support Lismore City Pipe Band to restore their equipment and band hall as they re-establish after this disaster.
All proceeds collected (after GoFundMe’s fees have been deducted) will go directly to the band to use in their recovery.
Your donation to support our piping community to get back on their feet would be greatly appreciated.
